Michael Carroll - Irvine-Based Counselor, Entrepreneur, Civil Servant

About Michael Carroll

A recipient of the Corporation for National and Community Service's President's Volunteer Service Award for pro bono representation at the Orange County Rescue Mission, Michael Carroll brings two decades of legal experience to his position as Vice Mayor of Irvine, California. On the November 2020 ballot for election to the City Council, Michael Carroll guides entrepreneurs, small businesses, and global corporations through his Irvine-based legal advisory firm, CorpGen Counsel, which he founded in 2005.

Mr. Carroll’s previous experience includes serving as Vice Chair of the Irvine Planning Commission and Chair of the Community Services Commission. He is also the former Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of Medallion Financial Corp.

He launched his career in law as an associate attorney with Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP after receiving his juris doctor from St. John's University School of Law. He holds a bachelor's in political science from American University.

A supporter of local schools, Mr. Carroll is a member of the Vista Verde K-8 School Foundation and a member of the Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s President’s Circle. His professional memberships include the Orange County Bar Association. Outside of his professional and political endeavors, he enjoys fishing, skiing, and creative writing.
